Brahmi - Centella Asiatica

• The primary active concentrates of Asiatica are triterpene saponins:
• Triterpenes have been described as anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antimicrobial, and anti-tumoral agents.
• Their sapogenins which are mainly responsible for wound healing are:
  • Asiatic acid - An antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial agent.
• ​​Madecassic acid - found to have a preventive effect on postoperative hypertrophic scars.
  • Asiaticoside - increases wound healing abilities, increases collagen synthesis, and strengthens the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties. Madecassoside - speeds wound healing through its anti-oxidative activity and enhances collagen synthesis.

Calendula

• Calendula is a natural wound healer, it is anti-inflammatory. Inflammation causes the breakdown of collagen, which is necessary for the wound to heal regeneratively. It has immediate soothing effects. The anti-inflammatory properties are from the flower’s, potent quantities of flavonoids, saponins, and triterpenoids.
• Calendula prevents the release of histamines, which can cause redness, pain, allergy, and inflammation.
• Calendula is rich in essential fatty acids, softening the scar tissue.
  Flavonoids function as a powerful antioxidant, which helps protect your skin against free radical damage.
• One clinical study found that calendula significantly decreased the healing time for C-section scars. The women treated with calendula ointment reported their incisions were less swollen and red than those receiving standard hospital treatment. The healing properties come from calendula’s ability to increase blood flow and oxygen to the skin. This increased blood flow to the scar tissue equals more nutrition and ultimate health.

Burdock

• Burdock Root contains a wide range of active ingredients:
  • Chlorogenic acid: has remarkable wound healing properties in vivo by enhancing collagen synthesis via upregulation of Tumor Necrosis Factor-α and transforming Growth Factor-β1 in different phases of wound healing and also because of its antioxidant potential.
  • Lactone, Taraxosterols, Polyacetylenes, Flavonoids, and Inulin.
  • Inulin relieves dry skin conditions, and is a humectant, hydrating the skin layers. It has antiseptic properties, reducing bacteria.
  • Burdock root contains polyacetylene which is known to impede the growth of fungi and bacteria. It also promotes blood circulation to the skin surface, which improves skin health and healing.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

• Apply a thick layer to compromised, sensitive skin, leave on the skin to penetrate, or remove any gel remaining after 30 minutes.
• Apply Ultra Repair Cream as the skin coat.
